The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) has announced the extension of its 495 95th Street Route to Lenexa, a new regional bus route that will link Missouri and Kansas. This exciting development is set to benefit residents on both sides of the state line, providing them with direct connections to jobs at Ward Parkway Center, Oak Park Mall, and Lenexa City Center.

The new route will run weekdays from 5:45 AM to 8:30 AM during the morning rush hour and from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM. It will traverse a four-mile stretch, starting from 74th Terrace and Broadway in Kansas City's Waldo neighborhood, and ending at 87th Street and Renner Road in Lenexa's City Center development.

The extension of the 95th Street route is part of a larger service expansion that began last summer. The new route will provide bus service to Lexmark International, as well as the 200-acre Lenexa City Center, which will eventually feature a mix of housing, shops, offices, restaurants, hotels, and entertainment venues.

The benefits of this new route are numerous. It will reach more than 2,300 households and over 5,500 jobs within a quarter mile of the route west of Quivira Road. Residents who pay Lenexa property taxes must bring their receipts to show proof of residency and qualify for reduced fares.
